

Aim
The School is designed to expose delegates to some of
the problems, decisions and challenges involved in running
a retail business. The programme concentrates
on enhancing the delegate's expertise in the management
of the following key resources: People, Money, Marketing,
Merchandise and Retail Space.
Objectives
Working in small teams delegates will:
• Define team roles and leadership characteristics
whilst developing effective
management
styles and utilising a feedback model
• Analyse cash flow forecasts, profit and loss
accounts and interpret key
financial indicators in order to formulate actions
that will improve
business performance.
• Devise and present the brand essence and marketing
strategy for a new
retail
chain.
• Participate in merchandising exercises and make
decisions on stock,
orders and sales.
• Devise the business proposition, layout, presentation
and staffing of a new
retail outlet and prepare a complete five-year
sales and profit profile.
